Outreach Goals
Our robotics team aims to inspire the next generation of STEM professionals by teaching STEM in a fun and engaging manner. We aspire to help our community while upholding the core values of FIRST©.
Outreach
Bayou Children's Museum, Jackie Bartells Kid Conservation Festival
Our team assisted children with engaging in fun STEM activities by creating and launching paper drones, creating slime with a bayou theme and constructing bristlebots.
St. Charles Church
We assisted in raising and lower the flags on Memorial Day in remembrance of those who served in the military.
Bayou Country Children's Museum, Lego Robotics Camp
Using spike kits, our team assisted the kids in making fun Lego creations. Having an enjoyable time while instructing them in the engineering portion of STEM.
Creole Classic Fishing Tournament
In order to raise awareness to nearby nonprofits and underfunded initiatives, our team was asked to participate in this event in Grand Isle. We helped arrange prizes, minnow races, and were there to assist in any manner we could.
Bayou Stem Engineer Camp
The team guided the children through STEM activities. The kids completed a range of tasks, including bottle rockets, egg drop tests, aluminum foil boats, and laser mirror mazes.
Bayou STEM Qualifier
Our team collaborated with Bayou STEM and the FRC team Bayou Crusaders to co-host the FLL Qualifier at Fletcher Community College in Schriever. This was a regional challenge competition, during which we took on various tasks, including organizing/volunteering for setting up and dismantling the award stage. Additionally, we provided support by guiding teams to their judging and match areas. While monitoring the practice table, we were able to give competing teams guidance on problems with their robots and coding. Our team took charge of managing concessions throughout the event.
King Cake Festival
Our team partnered with the Lafourche Education Foundation and Bayou STEM to promote STEM education in our community. At a non-STEM-centered event, we created an engaging, hands-on experience where kids made slime, built bristle bots, and observed robot demonstrations. To add extra excitement, we transformed our Center Stage backdrop into a Plinko board.
St. Patrick’s Day on the Bayou
Our team was invited by Bayou STEM to bring engaging STEM activities to the kids in our community. We provided the kids with slime kits, helped them with building bristle bots, and they were able to win prizes by playing Plinko with our Center Stage backdrop. They also enjoyed interacting with our team’s outreach robot.
